What is your name?

Jenny Snoddy


Tell us a little bit about yourself (e.g. age, hobbies, do you work or at school/uni etc?)

I'm 25 years old, I work as a Community Occupational Therapist in the NHSCT and I am one of the Assistant Leaders in Gateway. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and I love going to concerts!


Tell us a little bit about your family/pets!

I live at home with my Mum and Dad and my brother Mark. We have one little dog, Chewie.


What three traits best describe you?

I would say loyal, honest and caring.


Where is the best place you have travelled to and why?

Las Vegas! It's just totally surreal and like a different world.


Where would your dream holiday destination be?

Somewhere like the Maldives... hot, sunny and amazing beaches!


What is your favourite flavour of ice cream?

Has to be Pooh Bear from Mauds


What is your favourite sweets/chocolate bar?

Kinder Bueno


What is your favourite movie/TV Show?

TV show would be Friends and 24 hours in A&E and my favourite movie would be The Greatest Showman!


What is one thing you could not live without?

My family


What is your greatest fear?

Cotton wool 😬 The feeling and texture just turns me! lol


If you could do any job for one day - what would it be and why?

Hmm... I would love to be an astronaut, mainly for the views and to experience zero gravity.


Have you been doing anything new or interesting during lockdown?

I have still been working but on my days off I have been baking, I have made a little cross stitch rainbow and been helping with work in the garden!


How long have you been at Gateway?

Almost 6 years! Time flies when you are having fun


Why did you start volunteering at Gateway?

I had been doing a work placement in Hawthorns and I saw all the members getting excited for every Wednesday night and heard Thomas talking about it so decided to start volunteering - haven't looked back since!


Tell us about your favourite memory of Gateway?

Being part of Learning Disability Pride in 2017 & 2019. It was such a positive day and the feeling walking down the Marine Highway with the whole club was just so special to me.


What would you say to anyone thinking of joining Gateway?

Just do it, You won't regret it! We are a friendly bunch and you can be sure to have a great time 🥰


What is your favourite part of a "typical" Gateway Wednesday night?

I love when everyone is arriving at the start of the night and you hear the noise and chatter of everyone so excited to see their friends and to start updating you on their week.
